AttendanceGood attendance at school is essential if pupils are to fulfil their potential. Absences from school are authorised only if children are ill or for some other unavoidable reason. Absences for reasons such as shopping expeditions, lambing, or visits to places of entertainment, such as theme parks, are not regarded as authorised. If your child is absent from school you may receive a telephone call from the school to check the reason on the first day of absence. Students should bring a dated note (containing the reason for absence) to their Form Tutor on the day of return. If possible, holidays should be taken during the school vacations, but if necessary, a maximum of ten extra school days may be requested, prior to the start of the holiday, from the Headteacher. A holiday form is available from Reception or can be downloaded. NO PUPIL should leave school without the permission of the Deputy Head or Assistant Headteacher. ILLNESS / ACCIDENT IN SCHOOLPupils who are ill in school should report to Mrs. Lynne Evans in Reception. |
