BWHS is a pilot centre for the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification (WBQ).
In August 2009, 28 students in Year 13 gained the Advanced WBQ, giving them an additional A grade at A level. The WBQ does not replace A levels. It gives students a well-deserved recognition for their skills and experiences in the enriched Sixth Form Curriculum.

We are pleased with the A Level results this year, again there were many outstanding results and we send our congratulations to all students. They will move on to the university of their choice or have a gap year. 47% of all exams taken achieved the top grade A.
