| Homework is given when considered necessary for the following reasons: RESEARCH: 10 minute internet question, in order to prepare a child for a forthcoming piece of work CATCH UP: to write up work missed through absence REVISION: for GCSE coursework and exams (should be started at least one month before the exams start) LEARNING BY HEART: some pupils do this for coursework assignments WATCHING TV: watching S4C to further understanding of Welsh |

| We try to finish as much coursework as possible in Year 10. 2 pieces of oral coursework i) a role-play ii) a one-to-one presentation in conversation with their teacher 2 pieces of written coursework I) a conversation ii) a formal letter 2 pieces of reading coursework I) assessing two application letters for the same job ii) answering questions orally about an article or dialogue Pupils are allowed dictionaries when doing reading/writing pieces and when preparing for the two oral pieces are allowed help before hand to prepare. |
We might have to finish 1-2 pieces of coursework in the autumn term of year 11. It depends on the group. |
