Learning a musical instrument is a very beneficial and enjoyable experience that can provide the development of many social skills. There are many opportunities at BWHS to get involved with various ensembles and musical activities. We offer the following activities:

Where pupils are of the standard they must support the above ECA. Failure to attend may result in termination of instrumental lessons.

When the practice rooms are not occupied by a peripatetic teacher pupils are encouraged to use them for rehearsal time. Both teaching rooms (MU1 & MU2) are also available for silent practice with headphones on the keyboards during break and lunch times. Students can also use the computers and music software to work on their composing coursework during the lunch hour and break times.

Mid Powys Youth Choir

This is a choir for people aged between 10 and 25 who enjoy singing. We give concerts throughout Powys and beyond and sing in major international events such as those held in Llangollen and Vienna.

Rehearsals: Thursdays during term time.

Time: 6.30-8.00pm.

Venue: The Dance Centre, Llandrindod Wells.
