15 pupils accompanied by Mr. Martin Lockyer and Mrs. Melinda Kennedy took part in the latest exchange visit to Vittel from the 12th to 19th June 2009. They travelled with Veolia Coaches via Mönchengladbach. The travel arrangements were very good and we travelled through Wales, England, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany.
During the week the pupils kept a written record of everything they did. The diaries will be entered for the “Emma Page Award”.
Pupils spent 2 days with the family, 2 days on visits accompanied by their French hosts and a day in school and Vittel.
The host families were extremely accommodating and helpful and all contributed to the evening meal on the last day when all the host families and BWHS staff and pupils met up together in the school restaurant. Many of the pupils would have liked to have stayed for a few more days.
Pupils in BWHS will have the opportunity to host a return exchange visit from Vittel during 2009/2010.
